Pro Choice? and Health Care

We all know that 2008 elections are coming up and many of the candidates are providing a variety of views. But I want to focus on the subjects of birth control/abortion and health care. Should the government really have control over birth control and abortions? I am pro-choice all day long! What business does the government have regulating our daily decisions and lifestyles? As discussed in my Women's Studies class, ***If abortion is made ILLEGAL, we will find ways to still receive them, and abortion will still be done under the table!*** Our Professor bought it to my attention that abortions can be dated back to 500 B.C. It has been in this world for a LONG time, and is not going to leave so easily, kind of like the Marijuana issue. Protesters need to just go home and worry about their OWN lives and how they should live it. What they do is really unnecessary because most people still go ahead as planned, and what about the promises they make? "We'll help you!" etc... I know people who reneged on an abortion at the last minute and have not received any financial help from anyone. Some people NEED abortions. If abortion did not exist, there would be ALOT MORE neglected, abused and harassed children (unwanted). No one wants that! So everyone needs to use their brains and brainstorm before they open their big mouths. Forget about this Christianity or whatever Religious issues you may face, and think about the people. Yea we know that one of the ten commandments is "Thou shall not kill," but my philosophy is that God would rather us return the children to him rather than abuse them. Who in their right mind would have children and is not financially or mentally ready to uphold the responsibilities that come with children? And, for this birth control thing, I know we were put on this world to reproduce, but when do we say enough is enough? From my understanding, African -American females are subject users of Depo Provera, because of our "social status." Social status could mean anything from ethnicity, class, etc... Our government is SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOO screwed up. We have issues as a society surrounding birth control. We have so many views about it but I think that a person should worry about themselves and run their on households, rather than taking the issue to the public. ** We only do what we are taught or what we see!** Kanye West put it great words when he said "You can't tell me nothing!" It's hard to give advice to people. They only do what they want to do and if you are lucky, they might use a little of your advice. And as far as Health Care is concerned, society as a whole have to do better. We (US) have been labeled many things but the most harmful label could be unhealthy or Obese. We need adequate methods health care in order to function well. The story that I heard in class went like this: A woman is on the verge of having cancer, but it can be stopped if she has this procedure done that is very costly. She cannot afford it and she has insurance. But get this, the insurance won't cover this surgery! So, she has to suffer! This is a bunch of crap. Why do we pay for insurance every month and when we really need it, CAN'T receive the help that we PAY for? This is another subject that I can elaborate on but let me finish here. I am interested in other people's views.
